A look at what is coming: the mission medals

Every registered prediction becomes a mission, and every mission has a medal. It is struck for taking part, never for being right: the date on the rim is the day the prediction was deposited in public, before any data existed, and the back carries a spinner that turns in its bezel.

The Midnight Eridanus medal standing on a navy ribbon: the winding Eridanus constellation picked out in gold and white on a deep navy field, inside a gold rim reading COSMIC-005, registered 12 September 2026.

Midnight Eridanus

COSMIC-005. The dark energy prediction, waiting on DESI's five-year analysis. The real Eridanus stars, in their real positions.

Design finished · not manufactured
The Midnight Orion medal resting on a ribbon printed with constellations, its front showing the Orion figure in gold on navy inside a rim reading COSMIC-007, registered 12 September 2026, with the back of a second medal beside it.

Midnight Orion

COSMIC-007. The isotropy prediction, waiting on the Rubin Observatory's first data release.

Design finished · not manufactured
Front and back of the Midnight Orion medal side by side on a velvet ribbon, the front labelled FRONT and the back, carrying the COSMIC Framework mark above the spinner in its bezel, labelled BACK, spinning element.
Both faces, at 3.5 inches across. The front carries the mission and the date it was registered; the back carries the framework mark and the spinner.
Two views of the back of the medal: on the left the inner disc caught mid-turn and shown blurred, with an arrow indicating its rotation; on the right the same disc at rest, the three coloured arrows upright. A caption reads 3.5 inches in diameter.
The reason the back is worth turning over. The inner disc is a separate piece seated in a bezel, and it spins. Left, caught mid-turn; right, at rest.

These cannot be bought, and no price has been set. No factory has quoted them and none has been ordered, so there is nothing to sell and nothing to pre-order. They are shown here because the artwork is finished and it seemed better to show the work than to describe it. When there is something real to send, this page will say so and not before.
